Police boss Charlton Murithi succumbs to cancer
Senior Assistant Inspector General of police Charlton Murithi is dead.
Murithi died at Kenyatta National Hospital at dawn after a long battle with cancer. Three months ago, he had sought advanced treatment in South Africa.
Until his death, Murithi served as the Director of the Kenya National Focal Point (KNFP) on Small Arms and Light Weapons. The unit was established to control and coordinate initiatives and actions on arms control countywide.
The deceased previously served as the Director of Personnel at Police Headquarters in Nairobi. He also had a stint as a Traffic Commandant.
Colleagues in the police force eulogised him as a friendly and commitment worker who was good at networking.
