Detectives in Kikuyu sub-County, Kiambu, are investigating the gruesome murders of four minors reportedly by a 15-year-old Form One student.

Reports of the killings came to light on Saturday, August 27 (yesterday), when the girl’s father made a report at the Kikuyu Police Station implicating her in the mysterious deaths of his other three children and a cousin.

The children aged 15 months, 5 years and 7 years were killed between February 2021 and July 2021, says the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Also slain was a cousin aged 20 months. DCI says the suspect drowned him in a well within the family home at Gathiga village, Kabete sub-County, last month.

"The juvenile admitted to having committed the murders, before Kikuyu sub-county children’s officer," reports the DCI. "She is currently in custody at Kikuyu Police station as detectives process her for arraignment."

In January, 2021, a 22-year-old university student Lawrence Warunge was arrested after allegedly killing four of his family members and a farm hand in Karura village, Kiambu County.

In later court proceedings, it was mentioned that Warunge was 'high' when he hacked his victims to death. It was also mentioned that the murders could have been inspired by the TV series 'Killing Eve'.
