Independent candidate Francis Kiragu clinches Kwa Njenga MCA seat

Francis Kimondo Kiragu is the MCA-elect of Kwa Njenga ward in Embakasi South, Nairobi County.

Kiragu, an independent candidate, floored 17 other candidates to clinch the seat, in a race that was marred by low voter turnout.

He clinched the seat after garnering 2,098 votes while Kwamboka Kibagendi (UDA) came second with 1,344 votes. Wiper Party's Aziz Ibrahim Kassim came third with 1,273 votes.

The election was on August 8 postponed after it emerged that one of the candidates' name was missing on the ballot papers.
