Ruto confirms phone call to President Uhuru Kenyatta, discuss transition

President-elect William Ruto has this morning confirmed that he had a telephone conversation with outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a message posted on social media, Ruto said the conversation was about the recently concluded and the transition.
"I had a telephone conversation with my boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. We discussed the just concluded General Election and the transition as envisaged by our democratic tradition and practice," he said.
Ruto is set to be sworn in on Tuesday, September, 13.
In a press conference at his Karen office after the Supreme Court upheld his victory on September 5, Ruto revealed that he had not spoken with President Uhuru for sometime.
The political rivalry between the two often played out in the open, with Prresident Uhuru backing the candidature of Ruto's main challenger Raila Odinga in the August 9 election.
