Anne Waiguru elected Council of Governors Chairperson

Anne Waiguru elected CoG chairperson — Kirinyaga Governor was on September 17, 2022 elected as the Chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG) in a retreat in Mombasa.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is the new Council of Governors (CoG) Chairperson.

Waiguru of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance clinched the position after trouncing her Kajiado counterpart Joseph Ole Lenku of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi will deputize Waiguru at the CoG.

Meanwhile, Kajiado Deputy Governor Martin Moshisho was also elected as Deputy Governors' chairperson, in a closed-door meeting held in Mombasa County.
