Singaporean busted with heroin worth KSh12 million at JKIA

DCI detectives at the JKIA have arrested a Singaporean with four kilograms of heroin valued at KSh12 million.

Rahmat Mohd Noor, 57, was on his way to his home country via Dubai when he was intercepted by the sleuths in charge of luggage search at the airport.

A thorough search by the hawk-eyed detectives led to the recovery of the narcotics which were concealed in a yellowish polythene paper.

The suspect has been arrested awaiting to be arraigned in court as the search for the source of the drugs continues.

The arrest comes at a time when Kenyan has been named as one of the biggest victims of illegal narcotics in the world.

According to data by the European Union, the Mombasa Port accounted for 30 percent of illegal heroin smuggled into the European market in 2019.
