Speaking during UoN's  67th Graduation Ceremony on Friday, September 23, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama said that the institution had taken the decision to suspend the said undergraduate courses for sustainability.

‘‘The senate recently deliberated on this matter and approved a series of targeted interventions that are aimed at making the university more relevant, vibrant and sustainable,’’ Prof. Kiama said.

The aforementioned courses will seize to be offered by UoN effective 2022/2023 Academic Year.

The institution is currently offering 324 course, with Prof. Kiama revealing that there are plans to further scrap more courses from its list.

More focus, Prof. Kiama says, will be put in hiring critical departments in engineering, medicine and IT.

‘‘We suspended new appointments unless in critical areas, we rationalised programmes offering to focus on our flood ship programmes. In the process, we have in the three years collected KSh8.2 billion and are still counting,’’ Kiama stated.
