Bodaboda rider crashed to death by lorry hours after 3 were killed, 6 others injured at the same spot

A bodaboda rider was on Saturday, September 24 crashed to death by a lorry along the Sagana-Kagio Road in Kirinyaga.
This comes just a day after another rider and two pillion passengers died on the same spot after their motorcycle collided head-on with a PSV matatu.
According to eyewitnesses, two motorcycles going in opposite directions collided with one rider thrown onto the highway. The oncoming lorry then crashed him to death.
The other rider broke his legs in the accident.
"They (bodaboda riders) have been going very fast," says one resident.
Police recovered a bottle of alcohol at the scene of accident, pointing to the possibility that one rider was intoxicated.
These two fatal accidents in quick succession has left locals in shock.
Friday's accident claimed three lives
The accident occurred when a PSV matatu collided head-on with a motorcycle carrying two pillion passengers.
The matatu was heading to Sagana from Kagio town when it collided with the motorcycle that was coming from the opposite direction.
Area residents continue to decry the increasing rate of accidents with a bridge still under construction being blamed for this.
"Hii bridge tunashindwa itamaliza kujengwa lini, iko na miezi kama sita," laments one of the locals.
