Lawyer Miguna Miguna has fired back at the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji for claiming that former DCI boss George Kinoti was putting pressure on him.

During an interview with KTN News on Sunday, October 31, DPP Haji claimed that Kinoti pushed him to prosecute many cases among them Rigathi Gachagua's KSh200 million case.

"On DP Gachagua’s charges, the decision was made on the threshold. We were pushed by DCI himself through the media. We felt there was sufficient evidence to charge but later we discovered the documents were forged," Haji said.

Haji also said that Kinoti will be prosecuted if he broke any law, reiterating that nobody is above the law.

But according to Miguna, both Haji and Kinoti should be charged for abuse of power.

"You did nothing about Kinoti’s outrageous criminality for more than 4 years. Kinoti was your partner in crime. My view is that BOTH of you should face CHARGES for torture, misfeasance, and abuse of power," the fiery lawyer tweeted.

Haji's revelation comes a few days after Kuriah Obadiah, the lead investigator in the graft case against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, swore an affidavit claiming that Kinoti applied undue pressure on his team.

"Due to pressure from our boss, we were not able to cover crucial areas of the investigations that would have shed some light on the case," Obadiah said in the affidavit.
