Speaking on a local TV station, Sifuna congratulated Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after his KSh7.4 billion fraud case was dropped. He however asked him to look into petty offenders who entail "Wanjiku", to also have their cases withdrawn.
"To the deputy president, congratulations, your freedom has come now serve the people. You told us everything you will do will be bottom-up, so even this freedom you should start with the petty offenders who are in jail," said Sifuna.
Waluke, a broken man
The Senator further asked the current regime to grant MP Waluke freedom. He has been in jail since last month.
"I hope you also extend it to my brother Waluke. He called me yesterday, he is a broken man in the cells. They should look at this matter and see if it is possible to extend this freedom to Waluke and the hustlers before you get to the bosses," he said on Citizen TV.
The Milimani anti-corruption court granted an application by the Director of Public Prosecutions to withdraw Gachagua's case.
Waluke is serving a 67-year jail term after being found guilty of fraud in a KSh297 million National Cereals and Produce Board maize scandal.
