In Summary

  • Soy MP David Kiplagat says the opposition should not be quick in judging the Kenya Kwanza government, because they are still forming the new administration.
  • He says that President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua do not have the liberty to have longer sleeps, because of the hope Kenyans bestowed on them.

Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat now says that President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua only sleep for two hours.

Speaking during TV47's Pundits Night show, the United Democratic Alliance MP said that Ruto and Gachagua have so much ambitions for Kenya, and that they could not afford a comfortable 8-hour sleep.

"We are really working. You should not look at what is happening at public gatherings and rallies. Policies are made in boardrooms, not in rallies. I can tell you that the President and the deputy are waking up at 4:00 AM and sleeping at 2:00 AM," Kiplagat said.

The lawmaker revealed that the Kenya Kwanza government is currently working towards settling all the pending bills in various ministries especially the Ministry of Transport.

Kiplagat called upon the opposition to stop pressuring the government but instead, give it ample time as they make proper changes and adapt to the new environment.

"We are still in the initial stages of forming the government and that's why I'm saying for this period until the end of December give us time to set up ourselves then let the questions start flowing after," he added.

His sentiments come just weeks after President Ruto said that his new Cabinet Secretaries will have longer working hours in the bid to ensure proper implementation of the Kenya Kwanza Plan.
