"After you are through with your exams, I will give the headteacher KSh 300,000 so that after the exams you can come and have a bash muagane kwaheri," said the second in command.
He also promised to give teachers at the school KSh 100,000 "for them to enjoy as well".
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has offered KSh300,000 to sponsor a farewell party for Komarock Primary School in Embakasi, Nairobi after the national examinations end.
The DP said he will donate the money when he visited the school on Tuesday, November 29 morning to monitor the progress of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations.
"After you are through with your exams, I will give the headteacher KSh300,000 so that after the exams you can come and have a bash muagane kwaheri," said the second in command.
He also promised to give teachers at the school KSh100,000 "for them to enjoy as well".
Kenyans blast Gachagua
However, this has not gone down well with a section of Kenyans who are questioning Gachagua's priorities just a day after he sent out a paybill number for people to donate towards families facing hunger.
"What about ile ya drought mitigation? Wao watapata bash lini?," asks @gabrieloguda.
"Is this the same man sharing a paybill number?," wonders another user.
Another internet user questions why the money can't be donated to those in need first, "Why can't he give that to the paybill he created."
"Yet anasema tucontribute za kusaidia wenye njaa. I love my country 😅," jokes another.
Akinyi Abong'o says, "Can Riggy G 300k proposal for a bash at Komarok Pry School be redirected as a first payment on the paybill he set up for the food support for people starving because of drought?"
