Moses Njoroge (pictured) has been sentenced to five years imprisonment after he was found guilty of throwing a woman he met on Facebook off the 12th floor of Ambank House in Nairobi CBD on September 13, 2020.

In Summary

  • During his conviction on November 17, 2022, Magistrate Esther Kimilu ruled that Njoroge had no justification for his actions. The magistrate also noted that Njoroge had showed no remorse after the act.

    • During the court proceedings, the court had heard that on the fateful day, Njoroge kept hitting the victim’s face while forcing her to wear her shoes. The court was also told that Njoroge did nothing to help Wangari even after throwing her from the 12th floor.

On September 13, 2020, Eunice Wangari left her parents home in Karura to pay a visit to her boyfriend - Moses Njoroge - in Nairobi.

This was going to be the couple's first date after they met virtually through social media platform - Facebook.

Wangari met Njoroge at Ambank House within Nairobi CBD where he was working. They went out for their date and returned to Ambank House, and proceeded to the 12th floor.

The couple spent the evening at the office and at around 7:30 pm, she informed him that it was time to go back home.

However, it appears that Njoroge had other plans... to spend the whole night with the woman.

An argument ensued between the two, with the furious Njoroge pushing Wangari off the 12th floor. Fortunately for her, she fell three floors to the 9th floor.

She was rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital by Good Samaritans Wangari, after suffering serious pelvic injuries.

Wangari was hospitalised for more than two months at KNH.

    Man sentenced

On Thursday, December 1, justice was finally served after a Nairobi court sentenced Njoroge to five years in prison.

This was after Njoroge was found guilty of causing bodily harm to Wangari.
