New York City is looking for a 'bloodthirsty' person to help in the war against rats and rodents.

In an advert posted by mayor Eric Adams, the job title will be the director of rodent mitigation or the 'rat czar' with a salary between KSh147 million to KSh208 million per year.

"The ideal candidate is highly-motivated and somewhat bloodthirsty, determined to look at all solutions from various angles, including improving operational efficiency, data collection, technology innovation, trash management, and wholesale slaughter," reads the ad.

The job description is filled with rodent puns and anti-rat epithets. “As leader of the ‘Rat Pack,’ you will work with your colleagues from across city government, traveling throughout the five burrows,” it says.

It also calls for other qualities not typically associated with normal workers such as a swashbuckling attitude, crafty humor, and a general aura of badassery.

The city mayor has also confirmed his hate for rats terming them his worst enemies.

"There’s NOTHING I hate more than rats. If you have the drive, determination, and killer instinct needed to fight New York City’s relentless rat population — then your dream job awaits," he said.
