Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has been impeached.

During the debate to impeach the county boss, only two MCAs were absent.
The MCAs are accusing embattled governor of nepotism, illegal appointments, unlawful dismissals, misleading campaigns against other leaders and gross violation of the Constitution.
The governor refused to appear before the House to defend herself on the claims that formed grounds for her impeachment, claiming that it would be akin to contempt of court.
Two weeks ago, Meru High Court judge Thripsisa Cherere issued a conservatory order stopping an earlier impeachment motion against the governor.
Justice Cherere stopped the motion sponsored by Abogeta West MCA Dennis Kiogora, ruling that it did not follow procedure and that it would infringe on Mwangaza's rights since the time given for her to respond to the motion was inadequate.
However, Kiogora tabled a fresh notice of motion to impeach the governor.
Her fate now lies with the Senators who will either uphold or dismiss her impeachment.
