Maxine Wahome freed on bail
Asad's girlfriend Maxine Wahome, a celebrated rally driver as well, was arrested and presented in court after the incident.
Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi on Wednesday, December 14 released Wahome on a cash bail of KSh100,000 after she spent a day in custody over claims of assaulting Asad.
In his ruling, the magistrate said there was no compelling reasons to keep Wahome in custody.
The prosecution had requested that she be held in custody for 14 days to complete investigations into the matter.
According to prosecution, the incident was reported to Kilimani Police Station by Adil at around 1 pm, and after rushing to the scene, they found Wahome in the house in distress.
The investigating officer said the scene has since been documented and forensic evidence including blood stains and broken glasses collected for examination.
The police said they needed to find whether there were accomplices so that they could be arrested, obtain call data from their mobile phones for analysis and conduct DNA test of the blood samples.
Preliminary investigations were that Asad sustained a deep cut in his ankle, allegedly inflicted by the woman.
In her defense, Wahome claimed that Asad hurt himself as he was attacking her and as a victim, she needed protection.
