Respect Raila or form your party - Orengo, Wandayi tell ODM renegades

Senior Siaya political leaders have challenged those opposed to Orange Democratic Movement party boss Raila Odinga’s leadership to bolt out and form their own party.

Siaya Governor James Orengo and National Assembly Minority leader James Opiyo Wandayi say the emerging petty attacks on the ODM leadership must come to a halt. They add that those seeking favour from the government must do so with respect.

They were speaking at Pap Boro village in Alego Usonga constituency during the funeral of the late Mrs. Rosa Athieno Amoth. The deceased was the mother of the acting Director General of Health Dr. Patrick Amoth.

Orengo said Raila was still the undisputed political kingpin of Nyanza and Western regions and must be accorded the respect he deserves.

“We shall not accept a few people to undermine him,” said Orengo who was flanked by his deputy William Oduol.

Orengo said that they expect even the national government leadership to respect Raila  and other national leaders adding that both levels of government must cooperate and work in unity.

Wandayi, who is also Ugunja MP, warned that those who think there is a political leadership vacuum in the Nyanza region are day-dreaming.

The minority leader called on the government to confirm Dr. Amoth to the position of the Director General -Health, saying that he has proved his capability over the years.
