Kiambu: New Year tragedy as two children are killed, bodies dipped in water as mother watches

Two children aged 7 and 3 years have been killed in bizarre fashion at Kerwa village, Kikuyu constituency, Kiambu County. 

Kikuyu sub-County Police Commander Catherine Ringera says the two were inside their house together with their mother on New Year's Eve when she heard a strange knock on the door.

Upon responding to the call, a man burst into the room and tied her onto a chair before killing the children and placing their bodies in two separate buckets full of water. 

Neighbours say she did not raise any alarm. The woman is being held at Kikuyu Police Station as police launch investigations. 

Meanwhile, bodies of the two children were taken to Thogoto Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
