  • Okanga says he has received numerous phone calls and threats warning him to defect Azimio for United Democratic Alliance

Raila Odinga's vocal supporter Nuru Okanga has revealed that his mother has advised him severally to quit politics following Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition's loss in the 2022 Presidential Election.

Speaking in an interview with a local YouTuber on Monday, January 9, Okanga alleged that he has received numerous phone calls and threats warning him to ditch the opposition coalition for United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Okanga further said that he lives and breathes politics and there is nothing that can make him quit politics or supporting Raila.

"Watu wengi wamenipigia simu niache Azimio niende UDA niuze chama na nipewe kazi lakini nimekataa kwa sababu hata ODM ni chama, mimi sitoki Azimio.

"Mama yangu amenikataza hii maneno mara mingi, ati niachane na siasa lakini nikamwambia mimi siwezi acha siasa na ntasuport Raila mpaka dakika ya Mwisho. Mwanajeshi akikula kiapo, amekula kiapo, mimi nilikula kiapo ya Azimio," he said.

Okanga believes that at 82 years, Raila will finally clinch the country's top seat in the 2027 polls, after failing in to do so in 1997, 2007, 2013, 2017 and 2022.

"Raila Odinga anaenda kupita kura 2027 lakini akisema Kalonzo tosha, mimi siwezi pinga yeye," he added.
