Police officer who allegedly murdered 'cheating' wife freed on KSh1M bond

Meshak Kosgei, a police officer charged with the murder of his wife Emily Misiza has been released on a KSh1 million bond.
Appearing before Lady Justice Ann Ong'injo at the Mombasa High Court on Monday, January 16, Kosgei pleaded not guilty to the alleged crime that took place on December 6, 2022.
While releasing him on bond, Justice Ong'injo warned him against interfering with witnesses and the investigation process ahead of the pre-trial conference scheduled for February 6, 2023.
The suspect is said to have used his official firearm and shot Misiza for allegedly having an extra-marital affair.
The mother of two was then rushed to Coast General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit where she breathed her last on December 16 2022.
The firearm used by the Bamburi Police Station-based officer was later on recovered with 13 rounds of ammunition 9 mm. One spent cartridge was recovered from the scene.
