President Ruto appoints Abdi Bare Duale as KETRACO Board chairperson; makes several other appointments
Abdi Bare Duale's appointment sees the appointment of Brig. (Rtd.) David Azangu revoked. Bare's three-year tenure starts today.
- President William Ruto has also appointed Dr. Charles Githinji to be the chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, for a period of three years.
President William Ruto has made several changes in state corporations.
In a gazette notice dated January 20 2023, President Ruto has appointed Abdi Bare Duale as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited.
Bare's appointment sees the appointment of Brig. (Rtd.) David Azangu revoked. Bare's three-year tenure starts today.
In other appointments, President Ruto has appointed Dr. Charles Githinji to be the chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, for a period of three years, with effect from today. Dr. Githinji's appointment means that the appointment of Dr. Mandere Rodgers Atebe revoked.
Sophy Nekoye Waliaula has also been appointed by the head of state as the non-executive chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board for a period of three years. Likewise, Fatma Bakari Barayan is the new chairperson of the Youth Entreprise Development Fund Board, for a period of three years.
President Ruto has also made changes in the State Corporations Advisory Committee, appointing Philip Mang'ony as the new chairperson for a period of three years.
Surum Ipato Korema is the new chairperson of the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board, which means that the tenure of Agnes Mantaine Pareiyo comes to an end.
Other state appointments
In other appointments, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has appointed new members of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority.
Musa Osman, Emmanuel Kibet, Consolata Lusweti, Lucas Maitha and Caroline Njoki Maina are now the new board members, replacing Lydia Yator, Stephen Gichuhi Gichohi, Conrad Thorpe, Farida Abdalla Sud and Nilfat Kassim Ali.
Health CS Susan Wafula has also appointed new members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
They include; Dr. Paul Magutu Njaria, Dr. Dorcas Wanjiru Ngechu, Dr. John Munguti Kisengi, Dr. Miriam Wairimu Ndirangu, Dr. Stephens Ogutu Oyaya and Dr. Diana Marion.
