Lari: Woman, 74, beheaded; perpetrators vanish with the head

Residents of Escarpment village in Lari Constituency in Kiambu County woke up to horrific scenes on Wednesday, January 25 morning after a 74-year-old woman was brutally beheaded by unknown persons.

Women - mostly widows, the elderly and single women - are now living in fear after the shocking incident.

Lari Kirenga MCA Josphat Kinyanjui says that police are still looking for the head of the deceased, as it was totally severed from the body.

The MCA laments that there has been an increase in cases of crimes in the area, calling for police officers to increase their patrols during the night.

Kinyanjui also wants locals to be allowed to form security groups to enable them protect each other.

The body of the deceased has been removed to Uplands Mortuary, as the search for the perpetrators and the missing head continues.
