Three people including children die in head-on collision near Kenol

Three people including two children died after a PSV matatu they were travelling in was involved in a fatal road accident in Kenol area, Murang'a County.

The accident occurred at around 12 midnight (Saturday, January 28) when the  PSV - a Toyota Hiace belonging to Mekina Sacco - was involved in a near head-on collision with a lorry.

A report filed at Makuyu Police Station says that the lorry was being driven towards Sagana direction while the matatu was heading Kenol.

"On reaching at the location of the accident, KCJ 618Z [the matatu] failed to keep on his near side and hit the front right angle line of the said lorry," the police report reads in part.

The three people died on the spot while three others were seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Kenol Hospital.

The vehicles have since being towed to Makuyu Police Station as police start investigations into the accident.
