Passengers escape unhurt as Mombasa-bound bus bursts into flames
Forty two passengers escaped unhurt on Saturday afternoon after a bus they were travelling burst into flames along the Nairobi- Mombasa Highway.
The incident happened at around 4.30 pm near Voi town in Taita-Taveta County.
"The bus belonging to Tahmeed Bus Company with 42 passengers on board was heading to Mombasa from Nairobi," Voi Sub-County Police Commander Bernastein was quoted by 'Nation' as saying.
All the passengers quickly disembarked from the bus, which was reduced to ashes by the fierce inferno. were safely evacuated from the bus. The cause of the fire was not immediately established.
