More details released on the life of woman in Juja Dam tragedy

Friends of woman in Juja Dam tragedy have spoken for the first time since she drowned together with businessman Tirus Maina Gikonyo. 

A close friend alleged that Fridah Warau Kamuyu, 22, had plans to relocate abroad in pursuit of greener pastures. She had reportedly been housed by Gikonyo for a period of four months in Thika, Makongeni area.

According to the friend, the two allegedly met at an entertainment joint in Thika town where Kamuyu was on a socialite gig.

Kamuyu was a Hospitality Diploma graduate who graduated on December 2022 from a Kiambu County tertiary college. 

Law enforcement officers are investigating whether the drowning incident was an accident or otherwise.

“It would have been impossible for the car to go through the rocks just on its own,” a police officer who is privy to the investigation confirmed to TV47 Digital. “All evidence points to the fact that the car was driven into the water deliberately.”
