23-year-old boy arrested with KSh1.8M worth of bhang in Narok

Police in Narok County have arrested a 23-year-old boy in possession of 65 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa (bhang) with a street value of KSh1.8 million.
Narok Central Sub-County Police Commander Frederick Shiundu says they received a tip-off from members of the public who informed them of a notorious bhang dealer in Narok town.
According to police, the suspect, Simon Githaiga, had parked the drugs in one kilogramme packages ready to be transported to various parts of the country.
The illegal drug, he said, is transported using motorbikes to areas around town saying at the time of the police arrival, there were a number of motorbikes waiting to be loaded but took off when they saw the police.
The police commander asked residents to continue informing the police of suspected bhang dealers saying in the recent past, they have arrested a number of people in possession of the drug.
The young man will be arraigned in court and charged with being in possession of 65 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa(bhang).
