Korogocho MCA denies incitement charges; freed on KSh100,000 bail

Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo on Monday, February 6 denied uttering inciting words before a Milimani Chief Magistrate Court.
Appearing before chief magistrate Lucas Onyina, the MCA denied that on January 25 2023 - at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation offices in Capital Hill - he uttered inciting words which implied to cause anarchy in the country.
The prosecution allege that the MCA said, "Kwa siasa ya taifa tunataka tutoke kwenda ikulu tutoe huyu mwizi, nataka tuingie town tufunge biashara, hakuna biashara itaendelea hii town ya Nairobi, ndiyo William Ruto aheshimu Raila Odinga, lazima tufunge biashara hii town".
He faced a second count of using threatening abusive words with intent to provoke peace on the same day and place.
He was released on a cash bail of KSh100,000.
