CS Jumwa was not at the Loresho home during the Wednesday incident.
According to a police report vide OB number 3/15/02/2023, the gang entered the house through a back door, which was unlocked. To gain entry into the compound, they cut the electric perimeter fence to the CS’s house described as “newly-acquired.”
The thugs went to the master bedroom upstairs and made off with gold jewellery and two laptops.
They also ransacked the bedroom of the CS’s daughters and stole KSh1.1 million and three mobile phones. One of the girls was reportedly injured in the incident.

Nairobi regional police commander Adamson Bungei says preliminary investigations show that the thugs knew their way around the house.
“This looks like an incident committed by people who knew what they wanted and knew there were no police officers in the compound,” Bungei told a local publication.
He said they will interrogate the guards who were on duty for clues that’ll lead to the arrest of the criminals.
Incidentally, this is the second such burglary targeting a high-profile figure in President William Ruto’s cabinet.
On January 30, thieves broke into Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s Karen home and stole a Samsung television set and a gas cylinder.
CCTV footage showed two men jumping over the perimeter fence before gaining entry into the palatial home.
