"Why the gov't is targeting me"- Lawyer Danstan Omari

Lawyer Danstan Omari now claims he has become a target of President William Ruto's government for defending police officers.

Speaking on TV47's breakfast show Morning Cafe, he revealed that he has taken up numerous cases of officers linked to extrajudicial killings, particularly during former President Uhuru Kenyatta's reign.

"You remember the Kericho speech by the President? He called the SSU killers. During the national celebrations at Uhuru Gardens, they were called murderers. They were arrested. I stood firm defending the police. For record purposes I have more than 500 files of defending the police," he detailed.

Omari accused the current regime of attacking him for defending Azimio-affiliated politicians while he did the same for the then Tanga Tanga politicians.

Some of them include; Trade CS Moses Kuria, Gender CS Aisha Jumwa, President William Ruto and so on, Omari said.

"Kenya Kwanza will continue arresting, arresting people such by the time they lose power all cases will be dropped on reason that there was political interference," he added.

He affirmed that he would be not intimidated and would advocate for all Kenyans regardless of their political affiliations.

"The same constitution the President took oath on is the same one I took oath on. No one should worry or sympathize with me."
