MP Peter Kaluma drafts bill to criminalize homosexuality, proposes death penalty

Homa Bay Town Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Kaluma has announced he will be tabling an anti-homosexuality bill before Parliament.
In a letter addressed to Speaker Moses Wetangula on February 22, Kaluma sought for resources in drafting his bill.
"I intend to bring legislation to criminalize and punish homosexuality and otherĀ unnatural sexual acts; and to further criminalize the promotion of such acts in Kenya," he added.
To achieve this, the legislator intends to propose amendment to further provisions of article 45(2) of the Constitution which speaks on family.
"(1) The family is the natural and fundamental unit of society and the necessary basis of social order, and shall enjoy the recognition and protection of the State.
(2) Every adult has the right to marry a person of the opposite sex, based on the free consent of the parties."

He has been vocal on the issue, reiterating that "This LGBTQ Nonsense must be punished and completely eradicated!"
