Three dead, six injured in accident along Mau Narok-Nakuru Highway

Three people have died while six others sustained serious injuries in an accident at Enaibelbel along the busy Mau Narok-Nakuru Highway.

The six were rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital for treatment.

On the accident which occurred on Tuesday morning, Narok Central Police Commandant John Momanyi said the vehicle lost control after its two rear tyres burst.

"The vehicle lost control and rolled several times," Momanyi added.

Three passengers died on the spot including the driver who is also the owner of the vehicle.

Momanyi cautioned drivers to be vigilant on the road and follow regulations. He further urged vehicle owners to service their cars regularly.

To traffic officers, the police boss called for vigilance in flagging unroadworthy vehicles and tougher punishment for culprits.

The bodies of those who perished were taken to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary and the wreckage towed to Narok Police Station.
