Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua says he will soon release the names of government officers who looted public money during the pre-election period.
Speaking during a Sunday service in Nairobi, Gachagua reiterated that the country was in a bad economic state when President William Ruto came into power in August 2022.
"The little that was remaining they stole during the last days yet they were the first to call others thieves," the second in command added.
He announced that in the coming days, he would release names of the alleged looters during the reign of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"In a few days, we shall be releasing details of billions of shillings looted from the public coffers in the last three months of the last administration. I will announce the ministers and the PSs responsible so that Kenyans can know," he added.
On the cost of living, DP Gachagua said expansion of the cooking gas sector has contributed to a reduction in prices, promising the same for other sectors such as the milk industry.
"We shall open that space to many competitors because it was a monopoly. One person sells cooking gas at the price they want. In the milk sector, there has been a monopoly. He has bought off all companies and is now selling at high prices," he opined.
