Kenyan rally driver Maxine Wahome is expected to answer to charges on murder against boyfriend Asad Khan.

The charges were mentioned during Tuesday's court proceedings at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi before Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.

The prosecution told the court that Wahome would answer to the charges on Wednesday, March 8.

She is also expected to undergo mental evaluation to ascertain whether she is fit to stand trial.

Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) requested to have the suspect detained overnight at Kilimani Police Station. 

Wahome was first arraigned in December 2022, following a scuffle with her late boyfriend Asad Khan at his Kileleshwa home.

Khan succumbed to injuries on December 18 at Avenue Hospital in Nairobi.

The prosecution filed a miscellaneous application which saw the rally driver appear in court every Thursday since without being charged with a specific offence.
