Chinese national in court for allegedly stealing goat testicles worth KSh6 million

A Chinese national was on Friday March 10 charged before a Kiambu court for allegedly obtaining goat testicles worth KSh6 million from a supplier and failing to pay.

Lei Yunyan of Golden Pacific Investments appeared before Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Manuela Kînyanjui.

She denied that she obtained the testicles, which were reportedly for export, between September 1, 2021 and November 23, 2022, from Marsa Goto Ado, a supplier. Alongside the testicles were other goat pieces weighing 113.2 kilos.

The supplier told the court that frequent visits to Lei Yunyan’s office to push for the invoices to be honoured had bore no fruit. 

Magistrate Kînyanjui released Lei Yunyan on a KSh500,000 cash bail [or KSh2 million Bond). She was also directed to deposit her Passport in court and in form the court of her two Kenyan contact persons.

In defence, her lawyer told the court that Lei Yunyan was merely an accountant at the firm. "She is neither a shareholder nor a director."

 The case will be heard on July 19 while the mention will be on March 22.
