Man who allegedly stabbed Garissa woman with Somali sword on Christmas Day now behind bars

Detectives in Garissa County have arrested the main suspect behind the Christmas Day killing of a woman in Garissa Town. 

Khadija Hussein Farah, 37, was stabbed to death with a Somali sword. 

She had been confronted by three men prior to the stabbing. "The sword went through her upper abdomen, (and she) was pronounced dead at Medina Diagnostic Hospital while undergoing treatment," reports the Directorate of Criminal Investigations. 

The three fled the scene soon thereafter. Now, the main suspect Michael Barasa Wanyama, 20, has been arrested. 

He will appearing before the Garissa Chief Magistrate on April 10, 2023 to answer his crimes, adds DCI.
