Assad Khan murder trial: Maxine Wahome hires lawyer Phillip Murgor; to take plea today

The family of rally driver Maxine Wahome has hired Senior Counsel Philip Murgor to join two other lawyers who will defend her as she pleads to charges of murder today (Wednesday, March 15).
Lawyer Murgor who addressed the media at Kilimani Police Station on Tuesday said he has reviewed the documents and could not understand why the prosecution preferred a murder charge against Maxine.
He said that he has since applied to the court to be heard physically instead of the slated virtual session so that they can argue extensively.

The lawyer also noted that they are ready to have the matter expedited so that Maxine can resume normal life.

Maxine is accused of the murder of her boyfriend, fellow rally driver Assad Khan. She allegedly committed the crime on December 12, 2022 at Preston Court along Oloitoktok Road in Kilimani, Nairobi.
