Police warn Kenyans of fraudsters operating fake Abdalla Komesha Facebook account

The National Police Service (NPS) is warning Kenyans against falling prey to fraudster(s) running a fake social media account of Abdalla Komesha, the newly-appointed Acting Deputy Inspector General.

The NPS clarifies that the Facebook account is fake.

In what has become a trend, fraudsters are now using high-profile government and parastatal officials to fleece Kenyans.

In November last year, the NPS also warned Kenyans against fraudsters who were purporting to be police Spokesperson Dr. Resila Onyango.

"These existing fake accounts are maintained by unscrupulous imposters with criminal intent. We urge the public to desist interacting with the imposters, as we liaise with other agencies for appropriate action on the pages and their handlers," the NPS said at the time.
