A family in Lugari, Kakamega County is appealing to the government to help them bring back the body of their kin who died in Qatar.

The deceased, Rodgers Indako, is said to have died following collapse of a four-storey building on Wednesday, March 22 in Al Mansoura, Doha where he resided.

His parents Adrian Inziani and Eunice Seru said Indako had worked in the Middle East for four years.

"We first got a report that the building where he was living had collapsed on Wednesday last week, but were not told about our son’s state. We tried to contact the embassy on both sides but were unsuccessful. It is only days later on Saturday that we were told that he did not make it," Inziani was quoted as saying.

The deceased was reportedly expected to send money for his child's school fees.

Linet Museni, the widow, said her late husband was scheduled to visit the family in June this year.

"What has happened is unfortunate. My husband left the country in search of greener pastures to be able to take care of me and our children and he was supposed to come back in June but now he will be coming back as a corpse. It’s extremely painful," she added.

The bereaved family is now calling for the government to assist in bringing back their kin's body.
