Opiyo Wandayi: "Senior police commanders swindling demonstration allowances meant for junior officers"

Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi is accusing top police leadership of drawing money from the exchequer under the guise of paying junior police officers quelling demonstrations but not passing the same to the intended beneficiaries.
Wandayi says that the senior commanders, working in cahoots with unscrupulous officials at the Ministry of Interior had turned Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition anti-government demonstrations into a cash cow, warning the Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome that the trend will not be tolerated.
The National Assembly Minority Leader was speaking at Nyasanda Vocational and Technical Training Centre in Ugunja town, during a function where Siaya Governor James Orengo officially granted a charter to upgrade the town into a municipality.

'Open IEBC servers'
On his part, Governor Orengo challenged President William Ruto to allow the opening of the IEBC servers if truly he believes that he won the last general election as demanded by the opposition coalition.
“Raila has said time and again that he will go by what is in the servers, why can’t you open the server? Why can’t you make that commitment?’ posed Orengo.
Suna West MP Peter Masara accused Kenya Kwanza leadership of equating the country to a company where only the shareholders were entitled to benefit from it.
He said that unless all Kenyans were treated equally, there was no need to pay taxes.
