Battle for Jubilee: Kioni, Kega once again lock horns over who's bona fide party spokesperson

East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament (MP) Kanini Kega and Jeremiah Kioni have once again locked horns over the Jubilee Party Secretary General position.
Kioni today dismissed a letter written by Kega to Nairobi County Majority Chief Whip Moses Ogeto telling him to consider communication from him as null and void.
"This is to bring to your attention that Hon Jeremiah Kioni is not allowed to make any official communication on behalf of Jubilee party following the judgement of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal dated 19th April 2023," read part of the letter dated April 24, 2023.
Kega went on to claim to be the official spokesperson of the party in an acting capacity as appointed during the NEC meeting in Nakuru on February 10.
"Further, the said NEC meeting resolved that the undersigned will act as the Secretary General until the IDRM process is completed. Accordingly, any communication by Hon Jeremiah Kioni to your good office or any Honourable Member of our Party purporting to be the official position of Jubilee Party will be null and void and of no consequence," read part of the letter.

Kioni, through the official Jubilee Party social media pages has quashed the letter, terming it as "fake".
"NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: Official communication on Party matters is done through official channels/platforms and the SG Jeremiah Kioni who is the Party spokesperson.
"Any information coming from anyone else and communicated from clandestine locations is null and void," he added.
This came after a meeting with embattled Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe at the party offices in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
