DP Gachagua meets with Agriculture ministry principal secretaries

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua held a meeting with the Principal Secretaries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and project coordinators on Wednesday, May 10 at Harambee House Annex, Nairobi.

The meeting was to assess the projects under the Ministry and identify areas of improvement for effective and efficient implementation.

"Agriculture is a key sector to our Economy. This is why the Kenya Kwanza Administration is keen on ensuring the sector continues to support lives and livelihoods for sustained economic growth," the DP stated.

According to Mr. Rigathi, various projects under this Ministry, funded by the government and development partners, have borne fruit, but the Kenya Kwanza government wants to do more and align the strategic priorities of the sector to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

"I urged the project coordinators to quickly align the various projects with the Kenya Kwanza Plan, especially on key pillars of Agriculture; Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME); Housing and Settlement; Healthcare; Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy; Environment and Climate Change." DP Gachagua added.

He continued to say that President William Ruto is keen on the performance of all the projects to deliver on the Kenya Kwanza plan.
