Mike Sonko offers to help lady accused of damaging property worth KSh230k belonging to 'cheating' boyfriend

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has offered to cater for legal fees of a lady accused of damaging property belonging to her ex-boyfriend over cheating allegations.
In a social media post, Sonko argued that it was unfair for a man to punish a woman he has been intimate with after being caught with another woman.
"Wanaume tuwaache kiherehere. If you can't afford her anger, don't cheat on her. Sasa Household Items ya 250K ni Kitu ya kuwekelea Mrembo kama huyu Imelda Mwendwa Kigunda Criminal Charges?" he posed.
He urged anyone with information regarding Kigunda's case to send the court case number, saying he would foot her legal representation and even find her a female lawyer.

She had allegedly damaged her ex-boyfriend Vincent Alata's car as well as his television set and laptop on January 18, 2023.
The incident took place at Gemini Place, Nairobi following a heated argument over cheating allegations.
Her lawyer Brian Mwenda pleaded with the court to grant the accused bail after denying the charges.
Kibera Principal Magistrate Renee Kitagwa granted Kigunda a cash bail of KSh50,000 or KSh100,000 bond.
The case will proceed on May 31.
