Kajiado: Four dead, several injured as bus ferrying flower farm workers rolls

Four people died while several others sustained injuries following a grisly road accident in Isinya, Kajiado County on Monday, May 22.

A bus ferrying 40 workers of a flower firm was heading towards Kiserian direction from Isinya town when the self-involved accident occurred at around 7:30 am.

Confirming the incident, Isinya Sub-County Police Commander Patrick Manyasi said the four died on the spot while scores of passengers were critically injured and rushed to Kajiado County Referral Hospital.

He urged all road users to be cautious and avoid cases of speeding to avoid avoidable accidents.

Locals have decried the increase in number of accidents occurring in the area, saying authorities should have signage and speed bumps along the stretch.

They say the sharp corner is prone to accidents and dangerous to motorists, especially first time users of the road.

The bus normally ferries workers to and from the Ngong Veg Flower Farm and ordinarily makes two trips each in the morning and evening.
