The Homa Bay Woman Representative Joyce Atieno Bensuda, had a light-hearted moment after an incident during President William Ruto’s visit to Oyugis on Thursday August 29, 2024.
In a video shared after President Ruto signed the visitor’s book at the Oyugis Water Project, she stumbled, prompting the President’s security team, Ruto, and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga to assist her.
Moving towards an exhibition area, Bensuda and Governor Wanga shared a laughter about the stumble, with Bensuda humorously quipping, “Nimeanguka nayo” (I fell with it). The atmosphere lightened as they continued their activities.
The phrase ‘Anguka nayo’ has gained significance post-protests, evolving into a symbol of online activism in Kenya.
Ruto is currently in the Nyanza region on his four-day tour, which commenced on Wednesday with a visit to Migori county, where he inaugurated various development projects, before proceeding to Kisumu county.
