Njugush and Wakavinye purchase another Matatu business with a tribute to Jahmby Koikai

Kenyan comedian and content creator Njugush, alongside his wife Celestine ‘Wakavinye’ Ndinda, has taken another bold step in the matatu industry by acquiring a second vehicle.

The couple, who ventured into public transport in 2024, has welcomed 2025 with a new addition to their growing fleet.

Wakavinye took to social media to share the exciting news, revealing that the new matatu has been named Toria, after their second-born son.

This follows their tradition of naming their vehicles after their children, as their first matatu was named after their eldest son, Tugi.

The new matatu operates under Super Metro Sacco, one of the most reliable and widely used public transport saccos in Nairobi.

Their continued expansion in the industry reflects not only their business acumen but also their commitment to providing quality transport services.

Friends Celebrate Their Success

News of the couple’s latest milestone has been met with praise from friends and fellow creatives.

Comedian and entrepreneur Eddie Butita congratulated them while humorously considering his own entry into the matatu business.

“Wuuuuuuuueh! Congratulations @blessednjugush @celestinendinda.

Kila mtoto na basi yake, I’m learning sitawaangusha. Acha nione kama nitaanza na basi ama mtoto, lakini nashuku mtoto ndio rahisi kwanza,” he joked.

A Touching Tribute to Jahmby Koikai

Beyond the excitement of acquiring a second matatu, what has truly touched many is the couple’s heartfelt tribute to the late reggae icon Jahmby Koikai.

According to Judy Nyawira, the interior of the new matatu is adorned with images of the beloved media personality, serving as a beautiful homage to her legacy.

“The thing that has completely melted my heart with Kabat 2.0 is that the only pictures inside this matatu ni za Jahmby Koikai. Mama T and Baba T’s small way of paying tribute to our fallen soldier,” she shared.
