North London derby: Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham

SportsWORLD

Tottenham Hotspurs captain Huen Min son scored a brace to reach his 150th goal in the Tottenham shirt in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham had to fight back twice as the gunners had them cornered since the beginning of the match.

Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal a 26th-minute lead through his effort which deflected on Spurs defender Cristian Romero’s own goal.

However, Son pulled it back for Tottenham a couple of minutes before halftime.

Arsenal restored their lead in the second half through a Bukayo Saka penalty Kick after Romera was punished for a handball following a VAR review.

In a relentless encounter, Son levelled matters a minute later.

Despite dominating in the first half, Arsenal were not as fluid in the second half, especially after losing Declan Rice to injury at halftime.

A price they paid when his replacement Jorgihno was robbed by James Maddison whose assist helped Son find the back of the net.

Kai Havertz and Saka came close to securing a late Arsenal victory, with substitute Richarlison’s deflected shot narrowly missing the target during the 10th minute of added time.

The draw means that both teams now are four points behind Manchester City after six rounds of play in the English Premier League Season.

The takeaway from today’s thriller is that both Hueng Min Son and Bukayo Saka were instrumental in their team’s performance.

Meanwhile a Derby disaster for both Jorginho and Cristian Romero whose mistakes denied either side the bragging rights in the Northern London Derby.

Tottenham’s next assignment in the English Premier League will be against Liverpool at home.

Arsenal on the other hand will travel to Vitality Stadium to play Bournemouth three days after Playing Brentford in the third round of the EFL Cup.
