Nyako: “Stay home, life abroad isn’t as easy as it seems”

Popular TikTok creator Nyako recently shared a heartfelt message with her Kenyan followers, cautioning against the common dream of moving to Europe.

Speaking candidly in a live video, Nyako opened up about the struggles she faces in Germany.

Even admitting that many Germans themselves are moving out, discouraged by the high cost of living and rigid structures.

Her message was direct and sincere: life abroad is not always the paradise many imagine.

Nyako’s experiences have given her a unique perspective, and she openly expressed that life in Kenya, despite its challenges, offers a freedom she no longer feels in Germany.

“You guys are free,” she told her audience. “The day I return to Kenya, I will breathe.

The only person who will disturb me is the landlord.”

She emphasized that many Kenyans looking to Europe for a better life might be surprised to find that even locals are leaving in search of easier lives.

In her message, Nyako praised West Africans in Germany, highlighting how they look out for each other.

In contrast, she noted that Kenyan immigrants are often only able to lend support under certain conditions.

“I was almost deported, but one of them helped me,” she recalled,

Solidarity abroad

Expressing gratitude for the moments of solidarity she has received, yet lamenting the conditional support that sometimes prevails.

Nyako urged those with stable jobs in Kenya to hold onto them,

Sharing her recent financial struggles as a reminder that stability can be rare abroad.

“If I were in Kenya and given a choice to go abroad, I would not,” she admitted.

Recently, she faced a troubling issue with racism that affected her daughter.

Reinforcing her belief that immigrants face unending hurdles that many back home do not realize.

“Kaeni nyumbani,” she advised, encouraging Kenyans to appreciate the simplicity and familiarity of home.

Despite the hardships, Nyako made it clear she is committed to making a life for herself in Germany, even if it means facing tough times.
