A minor from Tente village in Nyamira County is nursing injuries following an incident where his neighbor reportedly attacked him with a machete.
The minor, a grade seven pupil at Tente Primary School, was allegedly assaulted by Peterson Nyakundi after being accused of stealing honey from Nyakundi’s brother’s beehive.
The student’s step-mum Melen Kemunto said that the young boy came home with severe wounds on his back and hand. He was rushed to Nyamira County Referral Hospital for treatment.
The grade 7 stated that Nyakundi beat him up and cut him before calling his brother, the beehive owner.
The family informed the police about the incident and is requesting that legal measures be pursued against the attacker.
