Police have launched investigations after angry villagers lynched a man who stabbed his mother to death over Ksh500 in Kemera location, Nyamira County.
The deceased identified as Wesley Ondieki, was smoked from a hide out in Omogwa village, Kemera location within Nyamira County, where he was lynched by an angry mob.
According to the police, Wesley Ondieki fatally stabbed his mother when she refused to give him money she had received from mourners who came to console the family after his father’s death.
Ondieki had also attacked his sister during the incident before he escaped, leaving her with serious injuries.
Villagers caught him and beat him to death, then burnt his body. The mother’s body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital while the son’s charred remains were removed to Tombe Hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, Kemera Location chief urged the youths to stay away from drugs and criticized the residents for killing the suspect, instead of handing him over to the police.
In a separate incident, police rescued a 24-year-old man from an angry mob, after killing his 40-year-old wife in Mwingi West, Kitui County.
This was after he confessed to have murdered his lover, who is also his former boss in love triangle maters.
Kyethani Location Chief Mwikali Musili explained that Mbuvi who worked for Serah had a romantic affair with her before another man came in with tensions escalating.
““The suspect says that he lived with the woman, they were couples. Recently another man from Garissa came, and the wrangles began,” the chief said.
Mbuvi who is not known by the villagers, killed Serah by hitting her with a piece of wood.
