Leaders from Nyandarua County have said they are ready to welcome President William Ruto in the Mt Kenya region despite claims of hostility from the former DP’s camp.
Speaking in Geta, Kipipiri Constituency, the leaders led by Wamaratu Chege castigated those who were against the President’s visit, terming them as agents of poverty who want to use innocent Kenyans to score their own selfish political interest.
Wamaratu called on the leaders from the area who are now calling themselves ‘Itungatis’ and often visit Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence to consider development rather than politics.
He explained that the Mount Kenya region has many stalled projects and the president is the only one who can revive them, and his visit is highly welcomed.
Chege, however, challenged the president to focus not only on launching or relaunching projects but also on ensuring he addresses the plight of youths in the society.
